Precious Violettes

Violettes are curious little flowers with a beautiful purple color that draws your attention with sweet curiosity. These Violettes are a little name I gave to the girls who I plan to design for. Their aesthetic is strong, their minds never stop to any boundaries, and their lives pulsate and infect those around them. Sweet, curious, and vital girls who bring life to the dullness of society will be the ones who stomp the streets with pride in their eyes and a wave of inspiration that is contagious to anyone crossing their path. My Precious Violettes collection will emerge in Summer 2012, and will be a fun, sinister, and sweet combination created by twisted little dreams that are ready to make a statement.

The Precious Violette girl can be identified as someone between the age of 15-30, the years of identification. During these years are the times where big choices that define you are made, and these girls are ready to take this challenge by the horns and stand strong to who they were, are, and will become. Beauty doesn’t have a specific size; tall, short, thick, and thin, are all beautiful in nature’s eyes, fashion shouldn’t be any different. Even with curves, she can belly dance her way to anyone’s heart, and if she is thin she can impress you with her intricate yoga flexibility. She lives in cities full of excitement and underground scenes that thrive through the nights such as; Tokyo, Japan, Sydney, Australia, and London, England. She has to be surrounded by innovative places because her life is defined by creative freedom, since her jobs can range from; Photographer, Freelance Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Tattoo Artist, Make- up Artist, Fashion Designer, and even an alternative Model.

Lifestyle is what characterizes who you are; you are the one that chooses what you want people to know about you. Well the Violettes radiate their lifestyle in anyway they possibly can, from going to underground Cybergoth concerts, festivals like M’era Luna, events like Sanrio’s 50th year anniversary, 6% DokiDoki fashion show, and some beautiful burlesque shows that represent classy beauty as an art form. They love to plan outrageous and silly events like getting friends from all over just to go have childish fun at Disneyland with their statement colorful tattoos, piercings, multicolored hair, or studded Mickey Mouse ears, and they most definitely don’t mind the little kids giving them weird looks. Their main goal in life is to make every moment memorable and they do this by not being afraid of judgment by society. Violettes are strong willed, but they won’t let age or anything take away their curiosity towards life. Seeing the world from a curious perspective opens doors to meeting new people, risking everything to achieve their dreams, and just keeping everyday adventurous rather than mundane.

For this collection these characteristics defined as the “Precious Violettes” are going to be clothing with small portions of structure to represent strength in one, volume for pride and statement, a mixture of color and darkness to show the sweetness of this girl with the contrast of strong will and mystery. Pantone colors for this collection are from the Summer 2012 forecast and they include varieties of neutrals like; blacks, grays, pearls, and then I’ll also be using some cute colors like lilacs, cotton candy pinks, violets, and a more vibrant pink. Some of these outfits would include details like corsets, latex detailing, and some zippers for edge. The main fabrics will be soft chiffons, with tulle for volume, and a little bit of lace in certain garments. The collection varies from bubble skirt dress with a tiny waist corset, to little black shorts with two cut out stripes on the sides lined with lace. A fun party piece would include a one shoulder multi-strapped dress with a flowy lilac chiffon skirt and a sweetheart neckline bodice. A top that could be used in a regular basis would be a black cotton halter with purple chiffon detailing on the bottom hem that wraps into the back to 2 gunmetal thin straps and a soft purple chiffon bow at the back of the neck. Accessories would include little chiffon multi-colored bows on gunmetal chains intertwining on latex, laser cut plastic crosses and hearts, small gunmetal studded watches and silver headband bows.

This girl has no fear of critique; she welcomes it, if anything the outfit caught someone’s interest enough to voice opinion. Her outfits state who she is, where she is going, and can appeal to any occasion. She loves to make things herself, personalize anything she can, and loves contrast of sweet innocence with the kiss of a dark mysterious aura. You will see her in parties, photo shoots, and dreaming of infecting masses with the pure bliss of creativity. Precious Violettes draw you in with the vibrancy of their appearance, but they aren’t only beautiful on the outside, they also keep you engaged with their running minds that are sure to inspire you in one way or another.

Muse

In honor of this first post I feel it is only right to talk about someone who has been a constant inspiration and source of energy that reflects an aesthetic that is truly unique. She knows how to construct and deconstruct art, fashion, and music. She transforms it into something truly wonderful to enjoy. Miss X, Destroy X, or Amelia Arsenic does it all, from designing her own clothing, make-up line, cynical vocalist of Angelspit, graphic designer, to a beautiful alternative model. Her aesthetics range from bows to syringes and she is able to combine them in a way that has become her signature. Miss Arsenic is living a true artist's life, constantly on the move, designing every aspect of her life, and emitting inspiration.
